Day 1 ZAGREB - MEDVEDNICA Mt. - ZAGREB

Your Croatian hiking adventure starts in Zagreb, the Croatian capital. With numerous museums, galleries, theatres, churches, cafes, open markets, clubs and pubs, Zagreb is today a city pulsing with life.
Today we are taking you on a typical Zagreb day trip. Pack your backpack, put on your hiking shoes and hit the road. It's impossible to imagine Zagreb without its Mountain.
The bond between those forested hills and people of Zagreb is unique. Medvendnica or "The Bear Mountain" is an ideal getaway where you can meet joyful people and feel the spirit of Zagreb.
We will hike up to Sljeme peak, 1033 meters high; enjoy the beautiful views and nature. In the afternoon, we are coming back to the city, where you can enjoy in a friendly atmosphere which Zagreb offers you. Overnight in Zagreb - 4 star Hotel in the city centre.

Day 2 ZAGREB - RISNJAK NATIONAL PARK - OPATIJA

We are leaving Zagreb today and head toward Risnjak National park which is situated in the green heart of the Croatia, in Gorski Kotar, only fifteen kilometers away from the sea.
Risnjak is the third oldest national park in Croatia, founded in 1953. and one of the most beautiful natural phenomena in our country.
The experts say that for the real enjoyment of its beauties you should have a special feeling for the charms of natural beauty and we have no doubt that you have it.
We will hike along the mountain paths of Risnjak and along the Kupa River until we find its source, a shaded emerald pool nestled deep in the forest. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey from the mountain going to the shores of the blue Adriatic Sea.
We are spending the night in Opatija, which is one of the oldest and most famous tourist cities on the Adriatic. Overnight in Opatija - 4 star Hotel.

Day 3 OPATIJA - UČKA Mt. - OPATIJA

Today, we are taking a day trip from Opatija to the Učka Mountain. Učka Nature Park is a relatively small park with enormous floral diversity.
There are many endemic species here, including the lovely Učka's bellflower. This park is also one of the few places in Europe where it is possible to see griffon vultures and golden eagles.
We will choose one of many hiking trails that extend through the Park and make our way to the highest peak Vojak, rising 1,401 meters above sea level. This is the place where we will admire the wonderful panoramic views of Istria, the Kvarner Bay with the islands, the mountains in the Gorski Kotar area, Mount Velebit and the Italian Alps.
In the afternoon we are coming back to Opatija, where you can enjoy the beauty of magnificent villas and beautiful parks and gardens, accompanied by the scent of the sea. Overnight in Opatija - 4 star Hotel.

Day 4 OPATIJA - NORTHERN VELEBIT NATIONAL PARK - PLITVICE LAKES

After breakfast we leave Opatija and head to the foothills of the largest Croatian mountain Velebit where we will hike along the trails of Croatia’s youngest national park Northern Velebit. We will drive along the scenic coastal road of Northern Adriatic to one of the most beautiful bays on the Adriatic coast - Zavratnica bay.
Then we will continue along the mountain range towards beautiful and stunning peaks of Velebit Mt. Velebit is Croatian Olympus, the house of Gods, the mountain that causes pride, admiration, respect and beauty in every visitor.
We will walk along the Premužić path - the most famous hiking trail on Velebit Mt., which is still considered a masterpiece work of architecture because it was built of stone and dry wall. You will definitely enjoy the breathtaking views of the Adriatic sea and islands.
After Velebit National Park we head towards the Plitvice Lakes. We’ll check in to a hotel in the Park and rest for tomorrow's exploration of our largest, oldest and most famous national park. Overnight in the Plitvice Lakes - 3 star Hotel in the National Park. 

Day 5 PLITVICE LAKES - RASTOKE - ZAGREB

As already mentioned, today we will explore the most visited and most beautiful national park in Croatia - Plitvice Lakes. Once upon a time this hidden wilderness was called the "Devil's gardens" and today is a magical oasis, a mixture of blue and green, the combination of the gorgeous waterfalls and virgin nature. Whether you come here out of curiosity, romance, tradition or education, the Lakes will not leave you indifferent. We will hike along the beautiful and crystal clear lakes with numerous cascades and waterfalls.

Enchanted  by true beauty of nature, we are heading back to Zagreb and on the way back we will reveal you the last secret and beauty on our trip and that's Millers Village Rastoke or the „Little Plitvice“, situated at the Slunjčica River which is spreading around the little village and creating a series of small lakes and picturesque waterfalls.
Our tour ends in the evening when we are coming back to Zagreb.

Zagreb

Zagreb

Zagreb has a rich cultural heritage dating from prehistoric ages. The very first findings of human habitants in the area date all the way to the Stone Age, around 35000 B.C. Zagreb arise from two settlements Gradec i Kaptol. Kaptol developed as a spiritual centre, where clergymen were given land to live on, and where they built curies. Somewhat later than the Kaptol settlement, the settlement called Gradec was established on the west side of the Medvescak creek. In 1242 king Bela IV, in order to thank for the shelter and to strengthen the country's defense, gave the habitants of Gradec the Golden Bull. The Golden Bull was the privilege which excludes Gradec from the governor's rule and obliges them only to army duty for the king. Simultaneously, under the influence of the Cistercians, restoration and fortification of Kaptol commenced. The city of Zagreb, with its cultural and historical legacy and significance, is one of the most vital cities in Europe.

NP Plitvice Lakes

NP Plitvice Lakes

National Park Plitvice Lakes is a special geological and hydrological phenomenon. It consists of 16 lakes, which gradually blend into one another in a long series of more than 5000 m. The vast forest areas of exceptional natural beauty, lakes and waterfalls, flora and fauna, mountain air, contrasting colors of autumn or spring, forest trails and wooden bridges are protected by the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. According to legend the Plitvice lakes formed after the terrible long drought. People, animals and plants have yearned and prayed for a drop of water. Then in the valley appeared mysterious Black Queen with her magnificent retinue and mercy to the people. With strong wind and thunder rain came to the ground. It was raining so long and strong, until the water level has not grown enough to create lakes.

NP Risnjak

NP Risnjak

National Park Risnjak is located in Gorski Kotar and it’s about 15 km inland from the Adriatic Sea. Main part of Park’s area is based on the mountain massif Risnjak 1528 meters high. The park is divided into two zones: a zone of strict protection and zone moderate protection. In a strict zone you can see many natural sits whose extremely rare beauty is reason why the Park is included in nature heritage with the highest level of protection. The river Kupa has its source at the park's lowest point in an oval pond some 50 m wide. View on the turquoise blue water is a good beginning of the nice walk to Schloserr house, shelter for hikers located at the peak Risnjak.

Medvednica

Medvednica

Medvednica is a mountain in Zagreb, whose highest peak is called Sljeme high was 1033 m. In addition to the beautiful nature on Medvednici can see the old buildings built in the 13th Medvedgrad century after the Tatar invasion in the southwestern slope Medvednica. The Medvedgrad be there early Gothic chapel of Sv. Philip and James and the Altar of the homeland, a monument to the fallen Croatian soldiers in the war.

Velebit

Velebit

Velebit is longest (145 km), but the altitude only the fourth mountain in Croatia. Velebitov Vaganski highest peak is 1757 m. The top of the mountain is provided along the Velebit Channel, Adriatic Sea, from Vratnik above Senja in the north to the canyon Zrmanja in the southeast. Within NP Northern Velebit is particularly strict protected reserve Hajducki Rozanski hips. The best known plant species are endemic Degenia (Degenia velebitica) from the family Brassicaceae, is shown on the reverse coin of 50 lipa. The mountain is located and the deepest Caves in Croatia: the three part "of Luke's caves.
